Writing a Manure Management Plan for Pennsylvania Farmers and Property Owners
乐动体育注册All farms in Pennsylvania that have animals or poultry that produce manure or farms that use manure for crop production are required by law to develop and implement a Manure Management Plan. This includes hobby farms or properties that have recreational animals. This course has been developed specifically for these farmers and property owners. (Note that Pennsylvania's Act 38 requires high density livestock or poultry operations to develop and implement approved nutrient management plans, which are not covered in this course.)
乐动体育注册This asynchronous, self-paced course will help you understand and meet the Manure Management Plan requirements. You will learn through readings and examples what is required for each part of the plan and receive step-by-step guidance on how to complete each of the plan worksheets.
Videos will teach you about why manure management plans are necessary, environmentally sensitive areas and setbacks, manure storage, pasture management, animals concentration areas, and winter manure application.
In addition, you will be provided with the resources that have been developed to assist you in the planning process.
